WHITE LABEL · IDENTITY

A dating app where identity verification is part of the platform

Verification bolted on after launch is always worse than verification designed in, because the interesting decisions are not technical. They are: what does the badge mean, when is it required, what happens when it lapses, and what do you tell a member you refused.

Two different checks, deliberately named differently

Conflating identity and authenticity is the most common mistake in dating verification, and it is why so many badges mean nothing.

  • D8N Verify answers who someone is: liveness, face match, age and document checks at a recorded assurance level.
  • D8N Real answers whether what they show is authentic: photos that are live, not stolen, not duplicated across accounts, and not AI-generated.

Assurance levels, not a single badge

A verification result carries the level of assurance it was granted at, so a brand can require liveness before messaging and a document check before payouts, and can require re-verification when risk signals change. A single boolean badge cannot express any of that, which is why it stops being trusted within a year.

What the marks do not mean

D8N Verified is not a background check and makes no claim about anyone's character. D8N Real does not mean every detail in a profile was checked. The marks say so on the site and in the product, because a trust mark that overclaims is worse than no mark at all — it transfers your members' caution to a promise you cannot keep.

Where the documents go

Identity documents and biometric templates never reach the operator surface. They live in the Trust Vault, purpose-limited to the check they were collected for, with their own access rules. Staff working a case see a verification status. Exceptional access is logged and reviewed.

QUESTIONS

Straight answers

If the answer you need isn’t here, ask us directly — we will tell you plainly when D8N is not the right fit.

What is the difference between D8N Verified and D8N Real?

D8N Verified means a person passed identity checks at a defined assurance level — liveness, face match, and where policy requires it, a document or age check. D8N Real means their photos and presence look authentic: live, not stolen, not AI-generated. One is about who someone is; the other is about whether what they are showing you is real.

Can I require verification before members can message?

Yes. Verification requirements are per-brand policy: you choose what is required before messaging, before video, before payouts or before appearing in discovery at all, and you can set a different bar per market.

Who can see a member's ID document?

Not your operators and not ours in ordinary work. Documents and biometric templates are held in the Trust Vault, separate from the operator surface, purpose-limited, with every exceptional access logged and reviewed.

Is a D8N-powered app really my brand?

Yes. Your name, domains, theme, copy, pricing, app store listings and member relationships are yours. The only D8N marks members see are the trust marks — Protected by D8N and D8N Verified — which exist because a visible mark is what makes verification worth passing.

Where do I start?

Tell us the market, the audience and whether you are launching a new brand or adding D8N to an app you already run. Those three answers decide whether white label, the API, or a custom build is the right shape, and we will say plainly if it is none of them.
